Guest Post Bylines: Examples and Resources to Get Inspired at #MyBlogGuest

Category #MyBlogGuest Twitter Chat Posted by

Last week we were talking about guest blogging bylines: That should be interesting, unique, non-promotional and describe a human being behind the content. Of course, obviously, we understand that brainstorming a byline is not as easy as it may seem.

Today’s Twitter chat aims at making your job easier: It will give you some clues to what should be included in the byline and how to make it cool.

***Reminder: Our Twitter chats are each Thursday 11 a.m. EDT / 3 p.m. GMT. To join, simply follow #myblogguest hashtag and include it in your tweets. Here are a few easy ways to participate described. Next week we’ll skip the chat for Thanksgiving, so see you in a week, Thursday (November, 29) at 11 am!***

Usual components of a good byline:

  • Your name
  • Your profession and company (or project or book)
  • Any extra details that make the byline interesting and unique. Tip: Use details to better relate your byline to the guest article (to make it one whole piece).
  • Your social media profiles to show *you* outside your content.

Last time we were discussing publishers’ tips, content marketing and building relations with bloggers.

Participants: Phil Turner (our moderator in chief), Michael Cohn (our user), John Brace (our user), and Deborah Anderson (our social media strategist and event host).

If you had trouble tuning in or missed it for any other reason, here are the takeaways:

Category #MyBlogGuest Twitter Chat Posted by

MyBlogGuest TeamIt is that time again. Time for another MyBlogGuest. Our October 2012 MyBlogGuest Google+ Hangout On Air is here, Friday, October 26, 2012 at 3PM GMT (currently 11AM EDT / 8AM PDT), same time (different day) as our weekly MBG Twitter Chat.

Featuring… YOU!

Now that we’ve got you warmed up to the hangouts, as a regular perk of the MBG Community, it is time for you to shine. Let’s truly turn this into a community hangout and discuss what is on your mind. There are no rules, per se, except that we are a courteous community and follow basic human decency.

However, for the sake of others who may want to participate, please enter the hangout with the intention to talk and be seen on camera. If you would prefer to be a silent viewer, you can do that, and just watch the hangout, but we really want to hear your lovely voice and see your face. Read more »

We are still accepting more posts for the contest. There are only several days left, so hurry up if you wanna make it!

And tomorrow we’ll have our Google Plus Hangout

Now to the best guest articles of the month!

  • Video Conference is a good replacement of face-to-face meeting! That’s a kind of face-to-face meeting, but it does not require distant travels, reduces expenses, and is extremely convenient. Location does not matter anymore. It’s also a topic that would naturally fit blogs from different niches. So, take this as an example of refocusing your content.
